A nice hill climb start beside a cemetery. Lots of traffic for a Sunday morning but nice ups and downs. We hit highway 28 to be welcomed with wall to wall traffic fortunately we had a nice shoulder. After lunch we had one of the most pretty rides of the trip. An amazing lake side ride with little traffic on a new road surface. Then we stopped in at the Pedals and Petals shop in Inlet to top off our tires and replenish the chamois butter supply. As we left the town of Raquette Lake we had a long climb. After a short break on top we started down and right into a rain shower. Wishing to put on my rain jacket I pulled over to the side of the road, overshot the edge and hit the soft gravel causing my bike to come to a quick stop and me to get thrown off. I’m fine we just waited out the shower in the timber going thru my panniers looking for the illusive jacket. A long day we got into Long Lake just at dusk. The lakeside lodge is a concatenation of On Golden Pond and Dirty Dancing.

  2. That's part of the Adirondack park you just rode threw thousands of lakes and ponds.
It won't be long before its buried in snow, which has its own beauty.
